Hi! Iain,

I got Parani-SD100 (Bluetooth SPP device).
# And Parani-ESD200. The ESD-200 not test yet. ;-)

http://www.sena.com/download/datasheet/ds_parani_sd.pdf

I try to connect to this from amd64 with ubt(4).

# btconfig ubt0 inq

... snip ...

2: bdaddr 00:01:95:xx:yy:zz (com)
: name "PSD100v1.1.5-xxyyzz"
: class: [0x001f00]
: page scan rep mode 0x01
: clock offset 19653

# sdpquery -a com search SP
sdpquery: sdp_open: Connection refused <-- Ooops...

This SPP device can connect from Linux and MacOS very easily.
I will try to debug. Which debug/check this problem easy?

Thanks,

Hi,

Pkgsrc/sysutils/hcidump is best for this, shows packets in and out. Or the one in wip/netbt-hcidump is later version with better decoding

I guess something relating to pairing - if you paired already with the
same radio on another OS the key will be in the wrong place..?

We wish to express our gratitude for your wonderful insight.
I was not executing btpin. I was not assuming sdpquery used PIN.

Thanks,

P.S.
I got bluetooth CFcard. Maybe this device driver is said 'dtl1_cs' from
Linux guys.
pcmcia1 function 0: <Socket, CF+ Personal Network Card Rev 2.5> (manufacturer 0x0104, product 0x0096)

sdpquery does not care about pairing, only if a) "auth" is enabled on
local device (with btconfig) or b) remote device requires auth to
connect..

Interesting. We should probably think about making a "btuart" layer
abstraction soon to cut down on code duplication..

btw I have a similar RS232C<->RFCOMM device (LM058) that works quite well
sending NMEA signals..

Ooops. I mistook.
'Rev 2.5' of that card works with bcsp (and com). More older version
supports 'dtl1_cs'.

i.e.
<Socket, CF+ Personal Network Card>
^^^
