I'm not sure whether this is a wpi specific problem or more
general. (I'm on travel and don't have another wlan adapter
to try with.)
wpa_supplicant doesn't succeed in establishing a connection
for me. At the beginning, it scans for an AP and doesn't see
a reply.
If I run a network sniffer I see a number of replies to my
box's probe requests, just they appearently don't arrive
at the higher levels.
"wiconfig -D" doesn't print APs, nor does "wlanctl", unless
I'm connected a (non-WPA) ssid. In that case it shows only
the AP I'm connected with.
Do others see that too?
If needed, I can provide wpa_supplicant's debug output
or packet dumps tomorrow.
best regards
Matthias
